What are the cheapest yet most effective ways to advertise a small business?

June 22010

Posted in advertise | 8 Comments »

I have a new business (opened in March) and it is in a field that should be good for making profit. But I’m not sure how to advertise it, and I don’t have much money to play with. So far I have made magnets for my car because I drive a lot, but that’s all I have done for advertising right now. Where should I advertise, and roughly what would it cost to advertise there?

It depends on your business – however word of mouth is your best advertiment – you might even want to give a referral program. Also google or Yahoo keywords is very in expensive – can budget $20 a month or Yellow Page add. Good luck!

How can I advertise to sell bulk groups of residential shower heads?

May 312010

Posted in advertise | 2 Comments »

My boss has nearly 4200 brand new rain shower heads that he used to manufacture a few years ago. He is trying to sell them at cost just to get rid of them. What are some free or inexpensive ways to advertise on the internet or other method? I know of ebay, craigslist and also looking into google advertising. Can anyone think of anything else?

The product is located in Phoenix, AZ and he would prefer a local sell but open to anything.

Thanks!

How would i advertise my internet based company?

May 282010

Posted in advertise | 4 Comments »

I’m trying to think of an idea for an internet based company, but i want to know how to advertise.

I just want to know how i would advertise my internet business?

Hey Matt,

I’d advise you to try to not pay for traffic first of all. A lot of quality traffic it free (i.e. Youtube, Facebook, Twitter). These are some of the top traffic sites on the internet.

Take advantage of these places, but if you want to make sure you’re maximizing these sites to their full potential, feel free to contact me. I’m more than happy to help you out.

Good luck!

Where is the best place to advertise for VOLUNTEERS, to test beauty products free?

Where is the best place to advertise for volunteers in the USA for free products?
Where is the best place to advertise for volunteers in the USA? Where can I advertise for volunteers to test skin care and beauty products (products are free). It would have to be free, and I have tried craigslist
I have to be able to do it through the internet, thanks for your help.

Please do Not send anyone your personal information especially home address, last name, city/state or other personal info as no one really knows the other person’s intentions regardless of whether it’s legit or not.

If you are with an actual company, that would probably be easier to get volunteers so that people can know that the products are (relatively) safe to try. I wonder if monster.com advertises for volunteers of products. It sounds like market research but I don’t know if people will actually try a ’strange’ product from someone that they don’t know.

(And just a word to the wise about Craigslist, there was a ‘nanny’ from minnesota that was answering a job ad from the list and ended up dead in her trunk with a 19 year old male in custody, so please be careful all around.)

What is an effective way to advertise vehicles to future/recent college graduates?

May 222010

Posted in advertise | 1 Comment »

I am looking for a way to advertise cars to students that will be graduating next May. I am looking for a unique way to get my message to them. This is proving to be an interesting task since there are many restrictions for advertising on campus’. I am in the Minneapolis, MN area and will be leading a campaign for a major car dealer association. One of my thoughts is to advertise in restroom stalls at local college bars and hangouts.

Have you thought about viral marketing — an email about a sweepstakes at your dealership on a certain date.

Or how about an email about a competition where you ask college students to upload onto Yahoo video or another video sharing site a funny video that needs to feature them, their school and your brand of car and the winner (as selected by you or some panel of judges you designate) in terms of humor and promotion of their school and you car wins something — maybe a car lease or maybe just a party at a local bar (if they are over 21).

I am not sure the legal requirements of running contests like that so you’d need to check but I think stuff involving email and something that involves participation and a prize is the best way to get people thinking about something.

How do I advertise my house to Japanese University boarders seeking accommodation?

May 192010

We live in a four bedroom house in Canberra and would like to have University Japanese student’s board at our house in 2010. How do we go about advertising out two rooms and finding university students seeking accommodation? Does anyone know of any websites where we can advertise to Japanese students?

You can also look in your yellow pages to see what Japanese businesses are in the area and and post an ad in their place of business if possible. There may be some touristy areas in the downtown area you can also post up a message.

Posting it up in Japanese would be even easier for you, you just need to have someone write it out for you.
