What is considered a good conversion rate on click-through type marketing?

June 22010

I am studying a company that uses Google Adwords and last week out of 2,667, there were only 5 conversions. That’s less than 1%. What percentage does it need to reach for Google Adwords to be considered "working" for them. Thanks!

not bad for general click through. Anything above 0.3% I considered good. If it is a focused sight based on strong interest and familiarity, then you might get around 1% but it’s rare.

The key is to get 10,000 to 20,000 viewings….The rate would stay the same and you’d get a lot more conversions.

UNBOXING:MSI Wind

June 12010

**Please rate, comment and subscribe.**

This is an unboxing and first impressions video of the MSI Wind, a small 2.3 pound netbook with a 10″ screen (1024 x 600). It features an Intel Atom 1.6 Ghz CPU, 1 GB of RAM (upgradeable to 2 GB), 802.11 b/g, three USB ports, VGA out, and an 80 GB hard drive. I paid $554 CAD + tax for it.

The version I ordered was supposed to be a black MSI Wind with a 6-cell battery, but instead it’s a white MSI Wind with a 3-cell battery. Join me for the fun of an unboxing of the wrong product! ;-)

ad’s click through rate and also the explanation please..Thank you?

May 312010

If an ad has 5766 impressions (it has been shown 5766 times) and has received 30 clicks, what is the ad’s click-through rate (%)? Please show the equation you used to derive this answer.

30 = what percent? (n) x 5766
30 = 5766n
Devide both sides by 5766
30/5766 = n

n= 0.5%

The click through rate is 0.5%

This is my review video of the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, Dell’s first step into the world of low-cost netbooks. The Mini 9 that I ordered has a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom CPU, 16 GB solid-state flash storage, 1 GB of RAM, a 4 cell battery, and an 8.9 inch at 1024 x 600 resolution. The Linux-based versions start at $349 USD, and the XP-based versions start at $399. If you get the XP-based version with every option, it’s about $480 USD. Enjoy the video!

Is a CTR(click through rate) of 80% very high and unusual on Google Adsense?

May 282010

My site recorded click through rate(CTR) of 80%.That’s because it is accessed by a community group and i haven’t clicked on these ads. Will i be thrown out of google adsense? what can i do to prevent myself of being thrown out of this programme.

Don’t worry. google check on each click based on ips. so long as you didn’t click the ads yourself or using your own phonelines, its okay.
=)

Whats the best way to increase my CTR (click through rate) with google adsense?

May 252010

I recently started a website about beginner motorcycles and after using adsense for a couple weeks my click through rate is still only 2%!!! I would really like to get it to 10%, but i’m not sure what else to do. Right now my traffic is only about 150 unique visitors per day so that may have something to do with it, but i’m not sure. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Here is my site:

http://www.bestbeginnermotorcycles.com

This has got nothing to do with traffic – yes but only a bit. and 150 uniques daily is not bad.

You have to do some keyword research on which are the high paying ads i your category – bikes that is. then use them wisely in your site text content so that those high paying ads are triggered. Even if only some people click on the ads it will give more CTR.

PHP/MySQL – track impressions and click through rate for products?

May 222010

Hi,

I run a book selling website and have around 1000 books listed in the database. I want to display certain "books special offers" in boxes around the website but I want to be able to track the impressions and clicks for each book displayed, as would happen on google adwords. An example would be a box with 5 book offers, which would rotate based on certain criteria in the PHP script. I would want to be able to view the impressions and click through rate. This dynamic offer box would be on several pages.

The php code for "Special Offers" box should have a counter variable which increment the number of impressions in the database. If you want to make it more sophisticated that you want to track unique visitors, then you may have to set a cookie in the users browser and increment the impressions only if the cookie is has already expired.

What is the online advertising industry average click-through-rate for a 728*90 leaderboard banner?

May 192010

Check out Figure 4 of this report from Doubleclick — they compared the click through rates of the various ad formats including the leaderboard though they presented the results as an index (and not as a percentage) http://www.doubleclick.com/us/knowledge_central/documents/RESEARCH/dc_bpwp_0605.pdf

Compared to the full standard banner 468×60 (CTR indexed at 100), leaderboards performed twice as better (indexed at 200)
